De eerste keer dat ik dit album beluisterde concludeerde ik dat dit toch wel een zeer aparte luisterervaring was. Inmiddels heb ik het een aantal keer beluisterd en die conclusie is alleen maar meer bevestigd. Paul Karapiperis is een Griekse multi-instrumentalist, die niet zomaar klakkeloos het standaard blueswerk kopieert. Het geheel klinkt allemaal nogal sferisch en spookachtig. Weliswaar duidelijk geïnspireerd door de blues is hij zeker niet bang ongebruikelijke wegen in te slaan.

een conceptalbum, dat uit zeven delen bestaat. Hij wordt begeleid door
Lefteris Pensions (bas), Panagiotis Dars (gitaar), Stathis Evageliou
(drums) en verder als ‘special guests’ Sotiris Kouroutis (cimbalen),
Teris Martinos (gitaar, altsax) en John Karastathis (akoestische
gitaar).
De opzet van de songs – een basis van blues met verrassende wendingen, aparte koortjes, bijzondere geluiden – is absoluut verrassend te noemen en het album boeit van begin tot eind. Het gehele album is via YouTube te beluisteren en kan via de website van Paul worden gedownload.

verfrissend. Het is misschien even wennen, maar het is zeker waard om
naar te worden geluisterd.

that this was a very special listening experience. By now I've heard
it a number of times and that conclusion is only confirmed. Paul

to take unusual steps.
